A team from the World Health Organization (WHO) successfully evacuated two six-year-old patients from Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza to receive medical care abroad.

According to WHO, one of the children has cystic fibrosis while the other has leukemia. Two caregivers accompanied them during the evacuation.

In a post on X, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of WHO, reiterated his appeal for continuous and secure medical transfers. He emphasized the need for urgent care for children and sick patients and urged for an immediate ceasefire.

"We repeat our appeal for sustained and safe medical transfers and ensure all children and sick patients in need of urgent care have a chance to survive. Ceasefire!"
