The White House on Monday expressed disappointment at Israel's decision to cancel the scheduled visit of its delegation to Washington to discuss US concerns about a possible attack on the Palestinian Rafah.

White House National Security Spokesman John Kirby said - in statements reported by the American newspaper "The Hill": "We are confused over the decision to cancel the visit."

The US official pointed out that Netanyahu's office shows through its statements that "our position has changed in some way and we have to decide what our policy is... and this did not happen," stressing that the Israeli side is creating an unreal perception.

He also added that Netanyahu did not speak with US President Joe Biden before canceling the delegation's visit, while Biden has no immediate plans to contact Netanyahu.
