White House has confirmed the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel will remain in effect until February 18.
The ceasefire agreement announced between Hamas and Israel will take effect after more than 15 months of a bloody war in Gaza, which caused a humanitarian catastrophe and unprecedented destruction across all aspects of life.
The first phase of the agreement, lasting 42 days, includes a ceasefire, the withdrawal and repositioning of Israeli occupation forces outside densely populated areas, the exchange of hostages and detainees, the return of deceased bodies, the repatriation of internally displaced persons to their homes in Gaza, facilitating the departure of the sick and injured for treatment, and intensifying the safe and effective distribution of humanitarian aid on a large scale across Gaza, according to an official statement by mediators.
