WhatsApp Launches New Feature to Make Shopping Easier

WhatsApp started to roll out a new feature called ‘Collections’ to allow users to shop items from the app using categories.

The feature allows business account holders to organize products in their catalogs according to the category which will help users find the desired item without scrolling through the long list of items.

If you have a WhatsApp business account, you can create a collection by following these steps. Tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the app > tap on Business Tools > select Catalog > tap on Add New Collection.

Notably, the ‘Catalogs’ feature was first rolled out by the company in 2019 in order to allow businesses to display the products and services they offer to potential customers.

In addition, the company released ‘Carts’ feature that makes it easier for customers to buy multiple items. This step boosted the e-commerce on the platform.

Besides the 'Catalogs' feature, the platform has also released a new Android beta 2.21.22.3 that reportedly adds a new control bar in picture-in-picture video.
