Since the first cases of Covid-19 were identified in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December, the disease has spread across the world with more than one million cases and 54,000 deaths so far.The outbreak of Covid-19 has officially been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The UK alone now has more than 33,000 confirmed cases, and the Department of Health has confirmed 2,921 deaths.

In the US, there are more than 245,000 cases and more than 6,000 people have died from the virus, according to data by John Hopkins University.

Nonetheless, there are many other parts of the world that, to date, have not clocked high case numbers despite often dense populations.

For example, Mexico, with a population of 130 million, has recorded 15 cases, Russia, with a population of 145 million, has 45, and neighboring Ukraine with 43 million people has three confirmed.

Then there are countries like North Korea, perhaps the most closed-off nation on the planet, in which officials have not announced a single case, or even acknowledged the existence of coronavirus.

Yet, experts have surmised that the embattled nation bordering the two most impacted countries – China and South Korea – is secretly saddled with hundreds, if not thousands of infections, according to foxnews.

Dr. Sarah Raskin, an assistant professor at the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University said that another factor for low official numbers in certain regions is that those from wealthier countries often have greater access to travel and thus higher chance of picking up the novel pathogen.

Meanwhile, "Daily Star" website revealed that all countries where no cases of the deadly virus registered are in Africa, Asia or Oceania. These countries took a decision to close their borders before registering their 1st case of coronavirus.

Yemen, the first country that have not been infected with the virus which has a population volume 30 million, no cases of the deadly Covid-19 disease have been recorded.

North Korea, which has an estimated population of about 25 million, despite the fact that Pyongyang has put about 10,000 people in quarantine. Despite this, the WHO reported that it suspected cases.

Although, Malawi country, with a population of 19 million, has not registered any Corona virus cases. President Peter Mutharika announced last Tuesday that the virus is a "national disaster".
