Voting began today, Friday, in the early presidential elections in Iran.
State television quoted Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi as saying that Iranians began casting their votes today to choose a new president after former president Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash.
While the 14th session of the Iranian presidential elections began in the country this morning, the voting process officially began outside the country.
Vahidi said that the number of voters eligible to participate in the elections is more than 61 million, while the spokesman for the Iranian General Elections Authority announced that 58,640 polling stations have been prepared in various regions of the country
