Verona, Romeo & Juliet City

There is no doubt that the myth of Romeo and Juliet is one of the most romantic ones on Earth. A number of works whether literature or visual arts adapted the amusing story.

Moreover, many tourists make sure to visit the beautiful city of Verona where the events of the myth took place. This story sheds the light on Verona city and its breathtaking sites that related to the myth and lovers who are guided by it.

Juliet's Balcony and House

As the story of the couple is a fictional one, so they have no relationship with the real mentioned sites. But, many tourists make sure of visiting the fictional Juliet's Balcony where the belove used to address Romeo.

Inside the house, there is a small museum with Renaissance-era costumes and the actual bed used in Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 film adaptation of the story. The gift shop is of a great romantic vibe. Also, in the hall of the house, a statue of Juliet stands.

Juliet's Wall of Letters

Juliet for sure became an icon of love and sacrifice; also she portrayed an unforgettable example of passion and commitment, therefore, many lovers used to hang their letters on the walls inside her house aiming her reply. It is considered as a sense of tribute.

A few years ago, a film called "Letters to Juliet" described beautifully the agony of such young and passionate lovers who are in trouble and asking for the advice of the legend.

So, a number of passionate ladies decide to answer the letters that were hanged on the wall.

Juliet's Grave

As this story is fictional, so the location that Shakespeare identified for Juliet's grave attracted a number of fans to see such a site.

The grave is located in Franciscan Convent. Also visitors can find a sign that carries lines from Shakespeare's play.

La Basilica di San Zeno a Verona

This church has the crypt where Romeo and Juliet hid to be married. The Romanesque building features a “wheel of fortune” rose window and 12th-century bronze doors.

Furthermore, other occasions are held celebrating folk occasions such as the moving musical crowds celebrating the myth of the departed lovers, and the way of Romeo to Juliet's house.

Therefore, the city of Verona has a wonderful architectural style which makes it a suitable place for love and magic.
