Uzbekistan to Host Annual International Week of Ziyorat Tourism

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures to organize and hold the International Week of Ziyorat Tourism”.

According to the document, the purpose of the international week is to make more effective use of the potential of pilgrimage tourism available in our country, to represent Uzbekistan as one of the most important centers of world civilization, to gain high recognition from the world community and international organizations, as well as to persify pilgrimage tourism services and increase tourism exports.

To this end, starting in 2022, the International Week of Ziyorat Tourism will be held in Uzbekistan in the first week of November.

Within the framework of the international week, exhibitions of religious books published in Uzbekistan, works of religious scholars and the Holy Quran, as well as thematic souvenirs will be held.

The International Week also provides for the annual holding of the following events:

– in the Samarkand region – the official opening of the International Week, the conference “Islamic Heritage of Uzbekistan”, the festival of folk melodies and songs;

– In the Bukhara region – forum “Graduates of the Mir Arab Madrasah”, exhibitions “Modern Islamic Architecture” and “Islamic calligraphy and decorative design”;

– In the city of Tashkent – “round table” on the topic “Islamic economy”, exhibition of national clothes, conference “Halal tourism”, festival “Halal dishes”;

seminars, scientific and practical conferences and cultural and educational events aimed at the development of ziyorat tourism.

It is also planned to hold press conferences and briefings, providing comprehensive coverage of these events in local and foreign media.

By a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Internal Affairs, the Committee on Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Culture, the Hunarmand Association and other responsible departments and organizations are entrusted with the relevant tasks of organizing the International Week and high-level events held within its framework, ensuring the participation of reputable foreign experts, specialists and media representatives.
