Lotfullah Khoja, the media advisor to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo, announced that his country attaches great importance to relations with Egypt. He added that Egypt is one of the brotherly countries and a country of great importance as it is a gateway to the African continent.

In a press conference he held on Tuesday to review the constitutional amendments in his country, Khoja said that Uzbekistan is following in the same footsteps as Egypt in the field of reform and the establishment of a new Uzbekistan.

He said that preparations are underway for the Uzbek President's visit to Egypt. He pointed out to the continuation of political consultations and dialogues on all issues through meetings between officials and the joint government committee.

The media advisor to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo said that the two countries are fighting terrorism and extremism and fighting deviant ideas as we are in one trench.

He explained that coordination is taking place with institutions in Egypt such as Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Endowments and that his country is keen to participate in all events taking place in Egypt.

He said that the constitutional amendments proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aim to achieve human dignity and a decent life similar to what is happening in Egypt.

Khoja added that there is a saying by the Uzbek poet Mir Ali Sher that if human problems are solved and dignity is achieved, the result will be a happy country.

He said that the amendments focus on all aspects of achieving justice, reforming education and the economy, opening the door to investments and the family, and fighting corruption
