Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev called for deeper unity and cooperation among Turkic nations during the Organization of Turkic States summit in Gabala, Azerbaijan.

He praised Azerbaijan’s reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and said the Peace Declaration with Armenia marked a joint victory for Turkic countries, opening new opportunities in trade and regional development.

Mirziyoyev proposed regular meetings of foreign ministers and security chiefs to address regional challenges and suggested holding the first in Samarkand next year.

He also urged stronger economic and transport cooperation, including a 2030 Development Strategy, a Permanent Council for Economic Partnership in Tashkent, and expansion of the Middle Corridor trade route.

The Uzbek president highlighted the need for collaboration in digital innovation, education, and environmental protection, and announced plans to host the Turkic Science and Innovation Days.

He concluded by expressing confidence that the Gabala Declaration would deepen cooperation and promote prosperity across the Turkic world.
