The UN Security Council is considering a draft resolution for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
But it wasn't long before the United States quickly vetoed a draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
In this context, the US representative to the Security Council sad that if Hamas surrendered, the war in Gaza would end, noting that Hamas was threatening Israel and was the one who started the conflict.
The US representative to the Security Council continued: "No one wants to see these tragedies in the Gaza Strip, and Palestinians deserve a chance to live free from terrorism."
The US representative to the Security Council added: "We have worked hard with Egypt and Qatar to end this conflict, and we urge the United Nations to move forward in achieving calm."
