Washington has approved the delivery of 3,300 Extended Range Attack Munitions (ERAM) to Ukraine, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal citing senior sources.
The advanced air-launched missiles, with ranges estimated between 240 and 450 kilometers, are scheduled to arrive in Kyiv within six weeks.
The transfer forms part of an $850 million military aid package, a substantial portion of which has been financed by European allies.
While the tranche is understood to include additional equipment, details beyond the missile systems remain undisclosed.
Defence experts note that the extended strike capability afforded by the ERAM could alter the operational balance on the battlefield.
However, it is expected that Ukraine will require Pentagon authorization for deployment in combat operations, given the far-reaching range of the weapons.
