The United States is set to provide Ukraine with a new $225 million military aid package, according to sources cited by the Associated Press on Thursday.
This latest aid package underscores Washington's ongoing commitment to support Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.
The aid package is expected to include munitions for HIMARS rocket launchers, which have been crucial in Ukraine's defense efforts.
Additionally, American officials stated that the package would also comprise Hawk air defense system missiles, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Javelin anti-tank missiles, armored vehicles, boats, explosives, and other equipment and ammunition.
This announcement follows President Joe Biden's signing of a substantial security assistance funding bill in late April, which allocated $95 billion for several US allies, with about $61 billion earmarked for Ukraine.
This funding aims to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities as it continues to face significant challenges from Russian military operations.
