US State Department supports Egypt's right in Renaissance Dam file

“The United States calls for the resumption of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) negotiations,” said Samuel Warberg, the regional spokesman for the US State Department, commenting: “We have strategic relations with Egypt extending for 40 years, whether cultural, political or military ones, and I hope that US President Joe Biden to visit Egypt, and I wish President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to visit America."

On the Renaissance Dam file, he revealed, in a statement to TV anchor Ramy Radwan during his talk show broadcast on dmc channel: “There were contacts between Biden, and President Sisi, and the US Secretary of State and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry during the last period, adding: “America supports the right of the Egyptians, and the importance of the Nile water, America will not leave 100 million people without water and will do its best to reach an appropriate agreement.”

The regional spokesman for the US State Department added: “Egypt played an important and decisive role in the truce between the Palestinians and the Israelis, and America will provide humanitarian aid to Palestine and resume dialogue with the Palestinian people and provide all support to them.”
