Extra News correspondent Mohamed Adel confirmed from outside the Egyptian Rafah crossing that a US Senate delegation praised the efforts made by the Egyptian state to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, in light of what they described as "the intransigence and arbitrariness of the Israeli occupation forces" in preventing the flow of aid.

The correspondent explained, during an interview on Extra News, that the US delegation, which includes two members of the Democratic Party, expressed its deep appreciation for the Egyptian efforts on the ground to deliver aid, noting that Egypt plays an undeniable pivotal role in alleviating the humanitarian catastrophe facing the residents of the Gaza Strip. He noted that the delegation expressed its dissatisfaction with the practices of the Israeli occupation, which obstructs the entry of aid despite the presence of hundreds of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid lined up at the crossing.

Mohammed Adel pointed out that the occupation forces prevented aid vehicles from entering the Kerem Shalom crossing, claiming that Saturday was an official holiday on the Palestinian side of the crossing. This halted the entry of aid through the Israeli side of the crossing, despite Egypt's full readiness in terms of organization and equipment.

The two US senators emphasized that this reality highlights the difference in approach, as Egypt exerts daily and continuous efforts, while Israel uses administrative and temporary justifications to delay the arrival of aid.
