The Biden administration and US allies are discussing possible control on sensitive technology and electronics in Russia to stymie President Vladimir Putin, Bloomberg reported on Sunday.

A person familiar with the discussions said this measure would be imposed if Putin seized more of Ukraine.

The source added that this step is considered a practical measure to deprive Russia of microelectronics made with or based on US software or technology.

On a separate note, Russia ruled out any concession at talks with the United States on soaring tensions over Ukraine as Moscow seeks a wide-ranging new security arrangement with the West but faces strong pressure to pull back troops.

Ahead of his talks in Geneva, Russia's deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov said the Kremlin was also "disappointed" with signals coming from both Washington and Brussels, where NATO and the European Union are based.
