The White House has announced the resignation of US Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, marking the latest departure from President Donald Trump’s administration.
In a statement posted on X, White House communications director Steven Cheung said Chavez-DeRemer stepped down to take up a role in the private sector. Her deputy is expected to serve as acting labor secretary.
Her resignation makes her the third cabinet member to leave the administration in recent weeks. Kristi Noem was removed from her position as Secretary of Homeland Security in March, while Pam Bondi was dismissed as Attorney General less than a month later.
Chavez-DeRemer had served as Labor Secretary since March 2025, following a two-year term in the US House of Representatives.
