The United States, South Korea, and Japan have conducted a trilateral missile defense exercise in the international waters of the Sea of Japan, a South Korean news agency reported Sunday, citing the Navy in Seoul.
The last time the United States, Japan, and South Korea conducted a three-way missile defense exercise was in April.
On Wednesday, Pyongyang test-fired the Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). It is believed to have flown over 1,000 km (621 mi) at a maximum altitude of over 6,000 km on an elevated trajectory.
