The U.S. Embassy in Jordan has urged American citizens in the kingdom to consider leaving the country if they believe travel can be carried out safely, citing rapidly evolving security developments in the region.
In a statement, the embassy advised U.S. nationals to closely follow security guidance and remain prepared for the possibility of sudden changes in the security situation.
The advisory comes as regional tensions continue to rise, prompting precautionary measures by several countries across the Middle East.
In a related development, the Kuwait National Guard announced on Saturday that it had shot down a drone in an area where it provides operational support to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense.
According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the interception was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security, protect vital facilities, and counter potential threats.
Separately, Kuwait Airways said earlier that it had begun operating flights from several capitals to Saudi Arabia in order to facilitate the return of Kuwaiti citizens to their country by land.
