Major General Turki Al-Malki, official spokesperson for Ministry of Defense, announced that U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was subjected to an attack by two drones, according to preliminary estimates.
The strike resulted in a limited fire and minor material damage to the building, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Saudi Arabia expressed its rejection and condemnation, in the strongest possible terms, of these "blatant and cowardly" Iranian attacks targeting the Riyadh and Eastern regions.
The Kingdom emphasized that such attacks are unjustifiable, especially since Iranian authorities were aware that Saudi Arabia had strictly prohibited the use of its airspace or territory to target Iran.
In light of this unprovoked aggression, the Kingdom asserts that it will take all necessary measures to defend its security and protect its lands, including the right to respond.
