The US State Department said in a statement on Friday that "the United States condemns the terrorist attack launched by the Houthis Thursday towards Abha airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, leaving at least 10 people injured.
The department stated that repeated attacks in the past several weeks have damaged civilian infrastructure, undermined international efforts to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Yemen, and threatened more than 70,000 US citizens living in Saudi Arabia.
It noted that the Houthi group has followed a "dangerous pattern of increasingly aggressive measures against Yemenis, Yemen's neighbors and the international community."
The statement added that US President Biden said in his call with King Salman on Wednesday, that the United States is deeply committed to supporting the defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
