A US official confirmed significant progress in talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program, while concern is growing in Israel about this negotiating track and the possibility of making "concessions" to Iran.
A third round of indirect US-Iranian negotiations is expected to be held in the Omani capital, Muscat, as part of the first high-level contact between the two sides since US President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear agreement in 2018.
The Washington Post, citing a senior US administration official, reported that "very good" progress was achieved in the second round, which was held in the Italian capital, Rome, on Saturday.
The upcoming negotiations, which will focus on "technical details," will cover key aspects such as maximum uranium enrichment levels and stockpile size.
The New York Times quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi as saying that these talks could provide an opportunity to " determine the details" in the coming days.
