UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova has stressed the importance of youth involvement in COP27.
"Congratulations Youth love Egypt foundation (YLE) for a very impactful Action Hub Event at Stockholm Plus50, which provided space for youth voices to raise demands for action at COP27 in Egypt," Panova twitted.
Organized by the United Nations General Assembly in Sweden, Stockholm+50 discussed the keys world countries have available to unlock change and how to improve the conditions for delivering a better future.
As part of their participation, the YLE held discussions with their counterparts to enhance joint cooperation to push towards climate challenges.
The meetings called for the urgency in solving world planetary crises and underscored that peace and conflict are intertwined with the availability and access to natural resources as fundamental as energy and food.
The partakers also addressed intergenerational responsibility, focus on high-impact implementation opportunities, and recognize the interconnectivity between stakeholders and policy issues.
It's worth noting that Stockholm+50 aims at accelerating implementation in the coming decade in areas fundamental to a sustainable future: the relationship between humans and nature, what we invest in, and how resources are used and shared.
