The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has reported that more than 2,700 children under the age of five in the Gaza Strip are suffering from acute malnutrition.
According to UNRWA, only one medical point is partially operational in northern Gaza, and fuel supplies are critically low.
The agency confirmed its readiness to deliver large-scale humanitarian aid in Gaza in coordination with other United Nations agencies, as reported by Al-Qahera News Channel.
UNRWA also stated that it has asked Israel to cooperate and provide evidence regarding serious allegations made against the agency, noting that despite 20 months passing, no response has been received.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) added that civilians in Gaza should not have to risk their lives in search of food and reiterated their preparedness to provide life-saving assistance in Gaza in accordance with humanitarian principles.
