The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said on Thursday that its schools and buildings in Gaza are no longer safe as shelters due to fighting by Israel and Hamas.
“No place is safe and no one is safe. It’s time for the guns to be put down, it’s time for a ceasefire, it’s time to release the hostages,” UNRWA said.
UNRWA helps Palestine Refugees achieve their full potential in human development through quality services it provides in education, health care, relief and social services, protection, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance.
UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions.
