UNRWA: Israel kills a child in Gaza every hour

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli occupation authorities kill a child every hour in the Gaza Strip.

The agency added in a statement issued on Tuesday: "There is no place for children. Since the beginning of the war, 14,500 children have been reported killed in Gaza, according to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)."

It continued: "A child is killed every hour. These are not just numbers, they are lives cut short."

UNRWA stressed that there is no justification for killing children in the Gaza Strip, and that all of the children who survived "were physically and psychologically scarred."

It pointed out that children are deprived of education, as "boys and girls in Gaza spend their time searching through the rubble."

It warned, saying: "Time is running out for these children quickly. They are losing their lives, their future, and most of their hopes."

Since October 7, 2023, the occupation forces have continued their aggression on Gaza from land, sea and air, which has so far resulted in the martyrdom of 45,317 citizens and the injury of 107,713 others, including a large number of children and women, and the numbers are expected to rise in light of the presence of thousands of missing people under the rubble.

Rescue teams are facing enormous difficulties in reaching all affected areas.
