The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has condemned Israel’s decision to block humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, warning that using aid as a bargaining chip in negotiations is a clear violation of international humanitarian law.
UNRWA spokesperson Adnan Abu Hasna strongly criticized the move, stating:
“Using humanitarian aid as leverage in negotiations is completely against international law and UN conventions.”
The decision to halt aid shipments has intensified an already dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where millions of civilians are struggling with severe shortages of food, medicine, clean water, and basic necessities.
Human rights organizations and global leaders have expressed outrage over the move, calling for unimpeded humanitarian access to prevent further suffering. UN agencies emphasize that humanitarian aid must always remain neutral and should never be weaponized for political gains.
As the crisis escalates, the United Nations and international humanitarian groups are urging immediate intervention to resume aid deliveries and uphold international law.
