UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his concern on Monday about the ongoing developments and Israeli aggression in the city and refugee camp of Jenin in the West Bank, according to Reuters. The UN Secretary-General's spokesperson stated that military operations must respect international humanitarian law. Guterres called for a cessation of all operations in Jenin and for full respect for international humanitarian law.
Since midnight last night, the Israeli occupation has launched a wide-ranging ground and air attack on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, surrounding them with more than 1,000 soldiers amidst intense aircraft surveillance, including Apache helicopters and drones. The Israeli forces committed a new massacre that claimed the lives of eight Palestinians and injured dozens, while the Palestinian resistance confronted the occupation and managed to injure and kill a number of soldiers.
