On Friday, a UN probe Tor Wennesland affirmed that Israel has committed a war crime by facilitating the transfer of Israeli civilians into the West Bank since June 13, 2014, according to international reports.

In this regard, the Norwegian diplomat urged Israeli authorities to cease its policy of settlement expansion across the Occupied Palestinian Territories, condemning the persistence and stubbornness of the Israeli authorities in not accepting any compromise.

Moreover, Wennesland indicated there is evidence Israel committed war crimes against humanity in Gaza and occupied West Bank, as snipers targeted people clearly identifiable as children, health workers, and journalists.

Also in this regard, the UN representative expressed great concern about the escalation of tensions in Palestine.

According to an official statement on Friday by the diplomate, Wennesland affirmed that Israeli Security Forces (ISF) must exercise maximum restraint and use lethal force only when strictly unavoidable to protect life.

¨Latest developments related to the eviction of 6 Palestine refugee families in Sheikh Jarrah and other neighborhoods in occupied East Jerusalem are also too alarming," the statement added.

In the same context, Wennesland also urged Israeli forces to cease demolitions and evictions, in line with its obligations under international humanitarian law.

In May, two Palestinian civilians, including a woman and a child, were killed in separate incidents, by Israeli security forces (ISF) in the context of clashes or attacks.
