The United Nations (UN) Committee on Palestinian Rights, with the support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, will hold the international conference in July.

The conference handles the issue of Al-Quds (known in western resources as  Jerusalem)  entitled “Palestinian Youth in Occupied East Jerusalem,” according to the UN   statement.

The statement added: "The virtual conference aims to shed light on the reality experienced by Palestinian youth in East Jerusalem under the Israeli occupation and discuss ways to support civil society based on Palestinian youth while facing daily challenges."

The conference also aims to raise awareness among member states, civil society, and the media while also highlighting Israel's curtailment of the rights of the Palestinian people and their ability to thrive in their city, by highlighting the voices of Palestinian youth in East Jerusalem.

The statement pointed out that the event will also discuss ways to support Palestinians and maintain their resilience as agents of change to achieve a just and lasting peace.
