UN Secretary-General expressed his deep concern over reports of airstrikes in and around the port of Hodeidah in Yemen.
Israel claimed responsibility for the strikes, citing them as retaliation for previous Houthi attacks on Israel.
According to the United Nations, initial reports indicated that the attack resulted in several fatalities and over 80 injuries, as well as significant damage to civilian infrastructure.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson’s office, the Secretary-General called on all concerned parties to avoid attacks that could harm civilians and damage civilian infrastructure.
The Secretary-General stated that he remains deeply concerned about the risk of further escalation in the region and urged everyone to exercise maximum restraint.
