The United Nations has urged all nations to halt escalation efforts in Ukraine following reports about France's plans to deploy two thousand military personnel to the region.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, addressed the media on Tuesday, stating, "First and foremost, I cannot confirm these reports, so I have no specific comments on that matter."

He added, "Our general stance is that we call on all countries to do everything within their power to achieve de-escalation on the ground in Ukraine."

Earlier on Tuesday, Sergey Naryshkin, the Director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, claimed that France is preparing to send its forces to Ukraine, with an initial deployment of two thousand French military personnel.

France had previously stated that it does not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, signaling a potential shift in its military engagement strategy in the region.

This development comes amid growing international concern over the situation in Ukraine, with the UN's call for de-escalation reflecting the global community's desire to avoid further conflict and stabilize the region.
