The number of Ukrainian refugees in Germany surpassed 700,00 since the beginning of the Russian military operations in the country, media agencies reported on Saturday.

The reports added that 98.3% of the recorded refugees in Germany who fled the war-torn country are Ukrainians, and 81% of them are women.

The number of Ukraine’s residents who fled the country since the beginning of the Russian military operation in the state has exceeded six million, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced on Thursday.

According to the UNHCR, the latest refugee crisis is considered the worst in Europe since the end of the World War.

Since the beginning of the Russian operations in Ukraine, more than eight million persons were displaced within the borders of the European country, the latest report by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) revealed.

In the same context, the majority of the refugees have crossed the borders to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania, where authorities have become trapped in a hard situation of providing the refugees with accommodation and support.
