Ukrainian Foreign Minister (FM) Dmytro Kuleba held on Monday, phone talks with British counterpart Liz Truss on next steps to apply more sanctions on Russia.

During their conversation, Kuleba stressed that pressure must increase until Russia ceases its meaningless aggression and stops barbaric war crimes, hailing UK's supportive stance towards Ukraine.

On her part, Truss stressed that UK is doing its best to support Ukraine, with defensive weapons and humanitarian aid.

Moreover, she praised the bravery of the Ukrainian leadership and people.

It is worth mentioning that, Ukrainian and Russian delegates have resumed talks on Monday, after Moscow attacked a Ukrainian military base near the Polish border.

On Sunday, a Russian delegate said, on Sunday, that talks with Ukraine may reach draft agreements soon.

In press remarks, he also added that the ongoing negotiations have made ‘significant progress.’

On the other hand, the Ukrainian President’s advisor, Mykhailo Podolyak, said on Sunday that he believed they would “achieve tangible results” following talks with Russia in the next few days.

He added, “Our proposals are on the table. They are very difficult. Among them are the withdrawal of forces in addition to a ceasefire. We will not give up any points.”

Russian-Ukrainian war entered its eighteenth day in a row, after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launching of military operations on Ukraine, on the morning of February 24.

European, Western and American countries imposed huge economic sanctions on Russia. The sanctions also targeted Moscow’s leaders, led by President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
