Ukraine's First Lady to Deliver Speech before US Congress

US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska, will address the US Congress next Wednesday.

Pelosi invited all members of Congress, both Houses of Representatives and Senate, to attend and hear Zelenska's speech.

The speech comes within the framework of a several-day visit by the Ukrainian President's wife to Washington, DC.

During her visit, Zelenska held a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. They focused on the United States' commitment to helping Ukraine recover from the consequences of the war, according to US department of state spokesman Ned Price.

It is worth mentioning that Jill Biden, the wife of the US President, had made an unannounced visit to Ukraine last May to meet with Zelenska, which the latter described as a courageous step by Jill, because she made the visit amid the outbreak of war.
