Ukraine has taken a significant step towards establishing a joint mobile phone roaming area with the European Union.

This move will allow citizens of the 27 EU countries to use their mobile phones in Ukraine without incurring additional charges for calls, texts, or internet usage.

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on Tuesday, marking a major milestone in Ukraine's efforts to integrate more closely with the EU.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Minister Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized the importance of the next phase, which involves securing a positive assessment of Ukraine's legislative amendments from the European side and initiating negotiations to join the EU’s unified roaming zone.

This initiative is expected to enhance connectivity and ease communication for both Ukrainians and EU citizens, fostering closer ties and facilitating business and personal interactions.

The move is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to align its policies and regulations with EU standards, reinforcing its commitment to European integration.
