The Ukrainian military announced on Friday that Russian forces launched 13 drones and five missiles over the regions of Dnipro, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia overnight. According to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, all 13 Shahed-type drones, launched from the Crimean Peninsula, were successfully intercepted and shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The military highlighted that the mobile air defense units managed to neutralize all Russian drones deployed during the previous night. In response to the ongoing Russian strikes, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has once again called on international partners to provide additional air defense capabilities, including Patriot missile systems, to Ukraine.
This plea for support underscores the continuous threat posed by Russian aerial operations and the critical need for enhanced air defense mechanisms to protect Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
