Britain is set to send laser-guided bombs to Ukraine as part of a new military aid package, as reported by The Telegraph newspaper.

The planned delivery includes the "Paveway IV" bomb, weighing 230 kg, which utilizes satellite and laser guidance for highly accurate target strikes.

First used by the Royal Air Force in Afghanistan in 2015, these bombs are expected to be integrated into the armament of the F-16 fighters scheduled for delivery to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the second half of 2024.

It's worth noting that the "Paveway IV" is actually a standard American Mark 82 bomb, equipped with control fins and modern guidance systems.

One of its features is the ability to select the detonation mode, allowing it to explode above the target (to destroy human forces over a larger area), upon impact (normal mode), or with a delayed fuse after impact (to target fortified objectives).

According to open sources, such glide bombs can be launched from a distance of over 30 kilometers from the target.

Meanwhile, it's important to mention that the Russian Armed Forces are currently conducting regular attacks on the airports where the Ukrainian Armed Forces plan to deploy the F-16 aircraft.
