United Arab Emirates (UAE) welcomed the decisions issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Friday regarding the imposition of provisional measures in the Gaza Strip and its demand to take immediate measures to protect civilians and stop any statements or practices and punish the direct and public incitement to commit genocide against Palestinians in Gaza Strip.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that the UAE "welcomes the Court's decision, which aims to stop Israeli violations and provide protection for Palestinians."

The Ministry pointed out that the UAE "appreciates the efforts of friendly South Africa, stressing the importance of providing protection for civilians," ensuring the urgent and sustainable and unhindered access of humanitarian and relief assistance to the sector, preventing further loss of life, and avoiding exacerbating the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The UAE also reiterated its confirmation "on the need to achieve a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state," according to the UAE news agency "WAM."
