UAE to Join NASA's Artemis Lunar Space Station Project

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially announced its participation in the development and construction of a lunar space station, joining the United States, Japan, Canada, and the European Union in this ambitious project.

Alongside this announcement, the UAE also revealed plans to send its first Emirati and Arab astronaut to the moon as part of the initiative.

The announcement was made in the presence of the UAE's leader, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his enthusiasm for the UAE's participation in the lunar space station project, emphasizing the country's commitment to advancing knowledge, and humanity, and ensuring progress and prosperity for all.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stressed the importance of the lunar space station, describing it as the platform from which human missions to Mars and other celestial bodies will launch. He also noted that work on the project would commence immediately, marking one of the greatest human ambitions in space exploration for the next decade.

Senator Bill Nelson, the Administrator of NASA, commented on the UAE's achievements in space, stating, "The UAE's accomplishments in the field of space have inspired the world. We are proud of its participation in the lunar space station project for the future of space exploration. The UAE will design, develop, and operate the 'Gateway of the UAE,' an equivalent pressure unit within the station."

The UAE's involvement in the lunar space station project is a significant step forward in the country's pursuit of space exploration and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of human knowledge and capability in the field of science and technology.
