UAE Thwarts Coordinated Terrorist Cyberattacks

The UAE Cybersecurity Council announced that national cyber defense systems had thwarted coordinated terrorist cyberattacks targeting the country’s digital infrastructure and vital sectors in an attempt to disrupt services and undermine stability.

In a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the council said protecting individuals, safeguarding personal data, and ensuring the continuity of essential services remain top priorities. It added that national cybersecurity and defense systems operate around the clock in cooperation with service providers, national and international entities, and specialized organizations, while drawing on advanced global expertise to strengthen protection and resilience.

The council said the attacks included attempts to breach networks, deploy ransomware, and carry out organized phishing campaigns against national platforms. It also noted the use of artificial intelligence to develop advanced offensive tools, reflecting evolving tactics by terrorist groups.

The council affirmed its commitment to securing the digital space and urged the public to report any suspicious cyber activity through official channels to help maintain digital security and service continuity.
