The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will allocate $4.5 billion towards clean energy initiatives in Africa, COP28 President-Designate Sultan Al Jaber said on Tuesday.

The announcement coincides with the second day of the African Climate Summit, currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya. The summit has gathered numerous African leaders and climate experts to discuss climate change issues.

African continent leaders are actively participating in the summit, which runs until September 6th.

Distinguished international figures in the climate change sphere are also engaged in discussions about the continent's climate-related challenges.

Initiated by Kenyan President William Ruto, the summit aims to establish international commitments and pledges in the context of climate change. The event also seeks to address the existing challenges and work towards sustainable solutions.
