UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received Hussein Al-Sheikh, the Vice President of the State of Palestine, in Abu Dhabi today.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed the latest developments in the region, with a particular focus on the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
They emphasized the urgent need to intensify international efforts to provide critical humanitarian aid to civilians in the territory.
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s historic and brotherly stance toward the Palestinian people and the nation's unwavering commitment to supporting their legitimate aspirations for sustainable peace, stability, development, and a dignified life.
He highlighted the importance of global cooperation in addressing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and building a sustainable response to meet the needs of affected civilians.
Moreover, he stressed that the UAE remains steadfast in extending humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.
Furthermore, Sheikh Abdullah underscored the need to end extremism, escalating violence, and instability in the region.
He called for a serious political horizon to resume negotiations based on the two-state solution, aiming to achieve comprehensive peace and lasting security across the region.
