The leaders of UAE offered their condolences to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi over the death of Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the former Minister of Defense and Military Production, who passed away last Tuesday.Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent cables of condolences to President Sisi over the death of the late Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, asking God to have his mercy upon the deceased soul and inspire his family patience and solace, according to a press release of the Emirati embassy in Cairo.
Egypt’s Former Defense Minister, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi passed away, last Tuesday, at the age of 85.
Previously, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called Tantawi “the great man who led Egypt in one of the most difficult periods.
It is worth mentioning that, Mohamed Hussein Tantawi was born on 31 October 1935. He was an Egyptian field marshal and former politician.
Tantawi served in the government as Minister of Defense and Military Production from 1991 until his retirement on 12 August 2012.
