U.S. President Donald Trump lost an important legal battle, as the US Supreme Court rejected on Friday the lawsuit filed by Texas, to throw out voting results in four states, according to Russia Today (RT).

The lawsuit, which submitted to the Supreme Court directly, demanded the annulment of the election results in the states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, where the preliminary results show his democratic rival joe Biden's victory.

The majority of the Supreme Court Justices did not agree with the president and seven of them voted to dismiss the case completely without it being heard.

Donald Trump was pinning great hopes on this lawsuit, which was filed by the Attorney General of Texas. The Supreme Court ruling deals a heavy blow to Trump in his quest to undo his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden.

Trump Comments on Supreme Court Decision

After midnight, Trump said on Twitter, “The Supreme Court really let us down. No Wisdom, no Courage!”

Complaining that the court had rejected the case “in a flash” despite his winning more votes than any other sitting president, Trump wrote: “A Rigged Election, fight on!”
