At least 108 people have been killed by Typhoon Rai, which hit the Philippines two days ago, amid intensified efforts to send water and food to the stricken islands.
The local newspaper, the Philippine Star, reported that the typhoon caused more than 300,000 people to flee their homes and beachfront resorts, as Rai destroyed parts of the Visayas and Mindanao regions, and caused communications and electricity interruptions in many areas.
In addition, many houses in villages were flooded.
