The Libyan competent authorities managed to catch the lion and put it into a truck before causing harm to the residents in the Benina area.

Libyan sources said that the lion, which was picked up as it wandered the streets of Benghazi, had escaped from a zoo near the area because lions are not usually found in the area.

Local news outlets reported that the area the animal was spotted in was close to homes and it could have been dangerous to people living there.
