Twitter announced on Friday suspendes Trump's account permanently. Twitter's decision followed two tweets by Trump Friday afternoon. "After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said.
Also, Trump's attempts to tweet from associated accounts also were blocked. At one point, he was tweeting from his campaign account, but that was promptly suspended, according to CNBC report.
Noteworthy, the firm on Thursday temporarily locked the page of outgoing US President Trump, over Capitol breach posts as well as removed a video posted by Trump in which he addressed his supporters after storming the U.S. Capitol Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, supporters of Trump stormed a congressional session held to endorse Joe Biden’s victory, as a last-minute desperate attempt by Trump to reverse his election loss led to chaos and accusations of an attempted “coup.”
Officials at the U.S. Capitol building announced the closure, and lawmakers said on Twitter that they were sheltering in their offices, as protesters – some of them carrying Trump flags – were seen walking through the building.
