Twitter Fosters Popularity of Tweets via New Feature

Twitter launched a new feature to measure the popularity of tweets by knowing the number of times users have added tweets to their bookmarks.

The platform underlined that the bookmark counter will appear for all tweets without exception.

Meanwhile, the function is only available in the Twitter application for the “Ios” system.

Earlier this year, media reports stated that hackers stole the email addresses of over 200 million Twitter users and published them on an online hacking forum.

The breach “will unfortunately lead to a lot of hacking, targeted phishing and doxxing”, Alon Gal, co-founder of Israeli cybersecurity monitoring firm Hudson Rock, wrote on LinkedIn.

Gal called it “one of the most significant leaks I’ve seen.”

Twitter has not commented on the report and Reuters could not independently verify if the data on the forum was authentic or not.
