Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has thanked Egypt for its efforts in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip, praising Cairo’s role in overcoming challenges during the recent Israeli attacks.

Erdoğan said Egypt has played a key role in ensuring the continued flow of assistance to Gaza under difficult conditions, stressing the importance of coordination and cooperation between Ankara and Cairo in responding to humanitarian crises.

He also underlined the significance of Turkish-Egyptian cooperation in future Gaza reconstruction projects, saying that combining Turkish technology and standards with Egyptian expertise would enable the implementation of large-scale projects not only in Gaza, but also across Africa and Asia. Erdoğan highlighted shared opportunities in sectors such as energy, mining, airport operations, and maritime transport, including the resumption of roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) cargo shipping.

The Turkish president pointed to Türkiye’s experience in the health sector, noting that 27 integrated medical complexes have been established across Turkish provinces under the “build-operate-transfer” (BOT) model. He said this experience could be shared with Egypt as part of broader cooperation in healthcare development.

Erdoğan also welcomed the positive impact of Egypt’s visa-on-arrival system, saying it has contributed to a rise in Turkish business delegations and tourist arrivals. He expressed optimism that this growth would continue at an accelerated pace, noting the strong interest of Turkish tourists in Egypt’s history and cultural heritage.

He called on the business communities in both countries to seize emerging commercial opportunities and support efforts to raise bilateral trade volume to $15 billion, stressing that deeper economic and tourism ties would further strengthen relations between Ankara and Cairo.
